Type I wallcoverings are commercial contract grade wallcoverings with a 15 Oz. weight. Commercial wallcoverings are produced specifically for use in hotels, apartment buildings, office buildings, schools and hospitals, and other businesses. Type I 15 oz. wallcovering is designed to be used in areas of light to moderate traffic. They are manufactured to meet or surpass minimum physical and performance characteristics set forth in Federal Specifications CCC-W-408, and are classified by flame spread and smoke development based on ASTM E 84 Steiner Tunnel tests or NFPA 286, using the corner burn test.
